This policy is framed in line with the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable, and Google Play User Data and Data Safety policies.

We are a technology-driven logistics and courier services provider currently operating in Ghana. We provide services that enable users to book deliveries, track shipments, process payments safely.

Our Privacy Policy applies to personal data collected through our mobile applications, websites, APIs, Customer Support and authorized partners

It applies to customers, riders, droppers, drivers, vendors, merchants, and any other individual who engage with our platforms.

Full name, Phone number, Email address, Physical address, National ID (where required for verification or compliance)

Order details, Delivery and shipment history, Tracking Numbers

Pickup and drop-off addresses, GPS data (where required for delivery tracking), Device identifiers, Mobile Money payment numbers

  • Onboarding Data (Rider /Dropper/ Driver)

Identification documents, Driver’s license, Photographs, Vehicle details and Insurance information

App activity, Log data, Device and performance data

We use cookies and similar technologies strictly for Authentication and login, Preferences and settings, Fraud prevention, Analytics and service improvement, Marketing (strictly where consent is provided)

9. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to Provide our services, fulfill contractual obligations, or comply with legal and regulatory requirements

Scenarios:

  • Basic delivery data may be deleted hours after logout
  • Transaction and other delivery records may be retained for audit and dispute resolution purposes
  • Inactive account data may be anonymized or deleted after legally required retention periods

 

  1. Account and Data Deletion Framework

10.1 Account Deletion (In-App)

Users may permanently delete their Yellow Package account directly within the app by navigating to Settings Profile Delete Account

Account deletion results in:

  • Permanent removal of personal profile information
  • Revocation of access to the Yellow Package platform
  • Deletion of delivery history, preferences, and app usage data

Once completed, account deletion is irreversible.

 

10.2 Data Deletion Requests

Users may request deletion of specific personal data without deleting their entire account by contacting us via:

Requests must originate from the registered email address or phone number associated with the account for identity verification.

 

  • Processing Timelines and Retention Exceptions
  • Deletion requests are acknowledged within 2 days
  • Data deletion is completed within 7 days

Certain data may be retained after deletion where required by:

  • Tax and financial reporting laws
  • Fraud prevention and security obligations
  • Legal or regulatory requirements

Such data is securely stored, access-restricted, and deleted once legal retention obligations expire.
